With just a few feet to go I looked out the window of Continental Flight ????
and for the first time saw the beginning of what will hopefully become a life long adventure or as I like to call it, a viewfinder adventure.
One of the first things I noticed after the wheels touched down in Tegus, the Honduran Capital, were not streets packed with cars, but rather streets packed people. More specifically, people holding signs while walking past armed police officers.
A rally? A protest? neither would have surprised me considering the recent turmoil this central American country has gone through.
My guide and close friend Rosie Gomez, who is teaching English in a small town in Honduras, tells me (after having to walk 2 miles to the airport because of closed roads) that the rally was about better pay and better working conditions.
In the picture below a Honduran man watches from the airport’s parking lot.
